Located on a beautiful, tranquil hillside, this stunning boutique resort feels more like a private members’ club than a hotel. Mount Cinnamon is the creation of Peter de Savary, the international entrepreneur and philanthropist, and consists of just 21 luxury Mediterranean-style villas and hacienda suites, set around the main clubhouse within acres of tropical gardens, all with glorious views of the bay. Every single villa and suite is individually designed, all are decorated in bright colours and vibrant Caribbean designs, and all have huge balconies overlooking the ocean.
The villas are fitted with lavishly-equipped kitchens, and there is a grocery service provided, for those who prefer self-catering. For those who don’t, there is Savvy’s Restaurant in the clubhouse, open for breakfast and dinner and specialising in traditional Grenadian dishes, as well as the Beach Cabana for relaxed lunches by the water’s edge — much of the food is grown at Mount Edgecombe, Sir Peter’s own plantation on the island, where guests can visit for cookery lessons. For a relaxed family holiday, or a wedding on the beach or in the garden, Mount Cinnamon provides a unique brand of Caribbean luxury with a Mediterranean flavour.
