The Moon Palace, a mega-resort set in 123 acres of exotic tropical gardens, is a holiday paradise for those who like to have everything laid on, and as you would expect from a resort of this size, there is something for just about everyone. With around 2,430 rooms, it’s just as well that the resort is divided into three separate sections, Nizuc, Sunrise, and Grand, the Grand being the most up-scale and providing a quieter, more relaxed holiday option. All buildings are low-rise and have views of gardens, pools or ocean, and guest-rooms are marble-clad, with huge bathrooms, double jacuzzis, and spacious balconies, some with hammocks.
The essence of the Moon Palace is abundant choice in everything, and this certainly applies to the dining options, with at least 12 restaurants to choose from. The most popular restaurants are Mo Mo, for Asian fusion dining, and La Trattoria, for Italian cuisine, but there is also Mexican, Caribbean and American dining, and the Brazilian restaurant Arrecifes. There are at least a dozen bars too, including the Vegas-style Noir Club, and there is organised entertainment every night, with everything from circus shows to fire displays. If you can find a peaceful spot, you can even get married here.
