The Jetwing Beach, an intimate boutique hotel, is a perfect example of the tropical modernism which was the trademark style of its designer, the renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. Surrounded by lavish gardens and luxuriant palms, it displays a spacious and stylish Sri Lankan design, with minimalist interiors, cement floors, amber-tinged walls, and a lobby area hung with dramatic contemporary artwork. Its elegant design makes it a perfect setting for a wedding, and several attractive wedding packages are available.
The hotel has just 78 guestrooms, including three vast top-floor suites, all with large windows and private balconies. All rooms feature the same simple and bright decor that characterises the rest of the hotel, with white walls that contrast with the elegant locally-sourced hardwood furnishings. The Deluxe rooms have spacious bathrooms with rain showers, while the suites have open-air rain showers and private courtyards.
Dining at the Jetwing Beach is equally luxurious, with the Black Coral Restaurant offering romantic fine dining, or the Sands for superb buffets and famous seafood barbecues. There are also the Terrace Bar, with its well-stocked wine cellar, and the beach-side Deck Bar, for drinks and light meals, and on the beach there is the Tea Corner, where you can taste Sri Lanka’s wide variety of teas. For a special romantic meal, you can have your dinner served on the beach under the stars.
