The Flamboyant Hotel, named for the Flamboyant, or Royal Poinciana, tree whose flame-coloured blossoms fill the resort with glorious hues, is built into the hillside, so every room has a sensational view over the bay and mountains. The disadvantage of this is that the resort is not ideal for people with poor mobility, although golf buggies, for transport between accommodation and hotel facilities, are available on request. The accommodation includes two-bedroom villas, one-bedroom suites, spacious rooms, and self-catering studios, all with a balcony or terrace.
The Flamboyant Hotel is famous for its friendliness and for the welcome it gives its guests, including a welcome drink on arrival, and the manager’s weekly rum punch parties. As well as the Beachside Terrace restaurant and the Beach Cabana, the resort is also home to the famous Owl Bar, known for having the longest Happy Hour on Grenada, and providing entertainment such as the weekly Crab Race, and on Fridays the Men from the Mainland, a famous calypso/parang music group. The hotel is also known for its excellent wedding packages, including under-water weddings with the unique Romance on the Reef package.
